The whole shop area in Corsicana is now decked out with our linear bay lights. This provides amazing task lighting, no more shadows, and no more maintenance.
Service bays are the hardest lighting problem in a shop. A tech works under a raised vehicle, and a single point source overhead puts the car between the light and the work. Linear fixtures running the length of the bay light it from both sides of the lift, which is what kills the shadow.
The maintenance part matters just as much. Metal halide over a service bay meant a lift rental and a lost afternoon every couple of years. These are rated 50,000 hours.
Fixture used: 160W LED Linear High Bay Light (500W metal halide equivalent). See LED Linear Bays.
