About Aquarium

We started building aquarium lights because the fixtures on the market were either cheap and dim or expensive and overcomplicated. Our ReefBars and reef floods use Bridgelux and CREE LEDs, run cool, and put the spectrum where coral actually uses it.

Three ways to light a tank

  • ReefBar Pro bars — 3W Bridgelux LEDs in linear bars from 10 to 68 inches. Even coverage across the whole length of a tank. Mix colors on separate channels.
  • ReefBar strips — 9W per foot, slimmer and lower cost, good for supplementing or for smaller tanks.
  • Reef flood lights — 10W to 50W floods that replace metal halide pendants over a reef.

Spectrum, plainly

Color What it's for
12000K Mixed reef. White with a blue lean, the standard reef look
20,000K Deep blue SPS tanks. Heavy coral fluorescence
453nm actinic Blue supplement, sunrise/sunset channel, pops color
50/50 Half white, half actinic on one bar — the easy all-in-one
6500K / 8000K Freshwater and planted tanks

How much light do you need?

Soft corals and LPS are happy with moderate output. SPS and clams want as much as you can give them, spread evenly, which is where multiple bars beat a single point source. For planted freshwater, 6500K or 8000K white is what grows plants without feeding algae.
